BBQ Pork

BBQ Pork

Ok, I really really liked this one. Served on buns with a cold pasta salad or fries on the side.  Pickles were really yummy on it as well, but I really like pickles. LOL

1/2 C water
1 3-pound brisket (I have done beef and pork)
3 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp ground cumin or chili powder
3 C bottled barbecue sauce (pick a honey one for a sweeter taste or a chipotle one for spicier)
12 or so Kaiser rolls or Hamburger buns.

- Trim fat from brisket. Cut brisket, if necessary, to fit in a crockpot. Add water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and cumin/chili powder. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 hours or on high for 6.

- About an hour before serving, remove the meat from the crockpot. Discard cooking liquid. Using two forks, and a knife if needed, shred meat and return to crockpot. Stir in BBQ sauce. Cover and cook on high for 30-45 minutes. Serve.

ok..this is going to sound dumb..but do you buy one of those huge briskets? (I can't seem to find one that isn't huge!)...and if you do..do you use the whole thing? or do you have the butcher cut it?

I buy the huge ones. Once in awhile they have a smaller/less fat one and I get those when I can. I do have to cut it in half sometimes to fit in the crockpot. I always have leftovers. Have some in my fridge right now. YUM!
